Dear Parents and Friends

LENT
Heavenly Father,
Thank you that you are a generous God and that you give us so many good things.
We are sorry that we are not always generous with others.
Please help us this week to be kind, to do our very best, and to be generous,
when we are helping others. Amen.

As we begin the season of Lent we reflect on the way that we lead our own lives and accept others for who they are. Take time with your children to reflect on changes and sacrifices that they can make in their daily lives to help others. We held a school Mass on Ash Wednesday to mark the beginning of the Lenten season.

This week St Mary's attended a reflective assembly to acknowledge the tenth anniversary of Kevin Rudd's apology to the Stolen Generation on behalf of Australia. Thanks to Mr Hill for coordinating the assembly which told the story of the Stolen Generation.

Congratulations to our wonderful St Mary's community for your efforts with our Swimming Carnival last Friday. The amount of work that goes into running a carnival is acknowledged and appreciated.

Thank you to all parents who were able to support our Primary Open Classrooms last Tuesday afternoon. We value the opportunity to open up classrooms and allow our students and families to visit learning spaces and meet teachers at the beginning of the school year.

Mr Price was involved in an accident yesterday on his morning bike ride. He has a broken scapula (shoulder) but is otherwise fine. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for his speedy recovery.

Mrs Leanne Clarke.
Assistant Principal.
